Organizers for Mad Cool Festival have finalized the 2022 lineup. After a two-year, pandemic-induced hiatus, the event will celebrate its fifth anniversary when it returns to Madrid, Spain on July 6th–10th.
Night one of the newly-expanded five-day affair will see headliners Metallica, Twenty One Pilots, and Placebo joined by CHVRCHES, Carly Rae Jepson, Glass Animals, Wolf Alice, Yungblud, Thrice, Yves Tumor, Seasick Steve, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Fever 333, Villagers, Alec Benjamin, and more. Performing at “The Loop”—Mad Cool’s all-electronic stage—will be SFDK, Hard GZ, and Santa Salut.
Thursday, July 7th, will see Imagine Dragons, The Killers, and Stormzy headline a lineup consisting of Deftones, St. Vincent, FOALS, London Grammar, Sigrid, Tove Lo, Modest Mouse, Tom Misch, Nothing But Thieves, Lucy Dacus, The Comet Is Coming, and beabadoobee, among others. Night two will also see Four Tet, Peggy Gou, Floating Points, Octo Octa, and CCL perform in The Loop.
Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, and Faith No More will then top the bill on Friday night, joined by alt-J, The War On Drugs, HAIM, MØ, Jamie Cullum, Phoebe Bridgers, Parcels, Black Pumas, Goodbye June, Shura, Zeal & Ardor, IAMDDB, AViVA, Scarypoolparty, and more. The Loop will see performances from Nina Kraviz, Stephan Bodzin (live), Folamour, Paula Temple, Sherelle, and Hayden James.
On Saturday, Kings of Leon, Florence & The Machine, and Pixies will headline alongside performances by Royal Blood, Zara Larsson, Editors, Leon Bridges, Animal Collective, Local Natives, Princess Nokia, The Struts, Gang of Youths, Tom Grennan, and Blood Red Shoes, with Flume, Mura Masa, Anna, Leon Vynehall, and Loraine James in The Loop.
Finally, on Sunday night, headliners Jack White, Nathy Peluso, and Natos y Waor will close out the show with help from Two Door Cinema Club, Sam Fender, la m.o.d.a., Arlo Parks, Tones And I, and many more.
