Wilco will celebrate the 20th-anniversary of its 2002 masterpiece Yankee Hotel Foxtrot with a run of April concerts. The six shows will take place at New York City’s United Palace and Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre.
First, Wilco will perform four nights at United Palace on April 15th, 16th, 17th, and 19th. Then, the band will head home to its native Chicago for gigs at the Auditorium Theatre on April 22nd and 23rd, exactly 20 years from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot‘s respective U.K. and U.S. release dates. Each show will see the Jeff Tweedy-fronted ensemble perform the album in its entirety “plus a mix of concert favorites and rarities.” A press release announcing the anniversary shows also teased “archival Yankee Hotel Foxtrot re-releases coming later this year.”
These shows will serve as the lead-up to Wilco’s annual Solid Sound Festival on May 27th–29th. The North Adams, MA festival at MASS MoCA will feature performances from Sylvan Esso, Japanese Breakfast, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, and many more in addition to Wilco and solo sets from Tweedy and other Wilco members.
Tickets for the Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 20th-anniversary shows go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time here. A Wilcoworld pre-sale begins tomorrow, February 9th at 11 a.m. ET and is accessible using the code “RESERVATIONS”.
